Citizens Advice response to Ofgem’s consultation on its updated minded-to positions on the Access and Forward-Looking Charges SCR
Citizens Advice welcomes the updates that Ofgem has made to its minded-to positions on the Access and Forward Looking Charges Significant Code Review (Access SCR).
In particular, we welcome Ofgem’s response to our views set out in our previous response that mitigations in the form of a high cost cap are needed to protect consumers from funding excessively high connection costs on the electricity distribution network.
The proposals to introduce such mitigations will ensure that connections to enable the net zero transition do not come at any cost to consumers and that some efficient cost signals remain for those connecting to the network.
