Citi foundation: financial capability training
The Citi Foundation supported Citizens Advice financial capability training courses and workshops for several years, giving hundreds of trainers, from local Citizens Advice and other forum member organisations, the opportunity to develop the skills to deliver financial capability training sessions.
In 2012 extra funding was made available for grants to five London offices. Each of these trained and supported one person, who was new to financial capability training, to become a competent financial capability trainer.
This was an opportunity for trainers to go through a structured training programme with support from a mentor, to set up and deliver courses, and to follow up outcomes with participants attending their sessions. The programme had a positive impact on the lives of over 400 people, helping them to improve the way they manage their money.
