New Director of Energy at Citizens Advice

28 Mehefin 2016

Citizens Advice has appointed Victoria MacGregor as its new Director of Energy.

Victoria brings 15 years experience working across the energy industry and the Citizens Advice network.

She was previously Chief Officer of Citizens Advice Dacorum, in Hertfordshire, responsible for all aspects of running the charity and leading its team of staff and volunteers.

Prior to this Victoria spent 12 years at EDF Energy, where, as Head of Public Affairs, she developed and led the energy company’s political engagement and influencing work.

Citizens Advice Director of Policy and Advocacy, James Plunkett, said:

“I’m delighted to welcome Victoria as our new Director of Energy. She brings both an extensive knowledge of the energy industry, together with an in-depth understanding of the Citizens Advice service and the key issues facing energy customers.

“Using our unique data and expertise, Citizens Advice’s energy policy work ensures that consumers’ interests are represented at the highest levels including with government, regulators and market players.  I look forward to working with Victoria and her team.”

Director of Energy, Victoria MacGregor, said:

“Having seen day to day the real difference Citizens Advice makes, this role is a real opportunity to bring my specialist stakeholder and energy experience to bear in support of the incredibly valuable work Citizens Advice does representing and protecting energy consumers.”

Victoria will take up the role on Monday 4 July.

Citizens Advice is the statutory consumer body for energy customers in Great Britain.

From commissioning new research into the energy market, to publishing data on energy suppliers’ performance, Victoria will lead Citizens Advice’s’ energy policy work to champion energy consumers, and ensure their voice and interests are heard in all energy policy and decision-making.
