About the role
ROLE: Welfare Benefits Caseworker
SALARY: £30,000 per annum
HOURS: Full-time (35 hours per week)
RESPONSIBLE TO: Service and Projects Manager
RESPONSIBLE FOR: Volunteer advisers
JOB PURPOSE: To provide welfare benefits advice casework.
CONTRACT: 3 years (dependant on funding and performance)
We are an experienced and friendly team and you will have lots of support, but you will be responsible for managing your own caseload and achieving agreed project KPIs.
You will deliver benefits casework and advice to clients via telephone, email and face to face where appropriate
Provide an effective and efficient advice service within the aims, policies and principles of the Citizens Advice service
Ensure that all work conforms to the organisation’s office manual and the Advice Quality standard / other funding requirements, as appropriate.
Maintain detailed case records for the purpose of continuity of casework, information retrieval, statistical monitoring and report preparation.
Achieve agreed targets in terms of clients supported and financial outcomes achieved
Increase welfare benefits advice capacity through training of volunteers to undertake benefit checks and complete benefit forms
