Following the severe weather in December 2013 Ofgem issued a consultation on changes to the Guarenteed Standards of Performance for electricity companies - particularly increasing the level of payment for consumers cut off from supply due to weather.
Citizens Advice supported increasing the level of payments and making payments automatic and also empahsised the need for robust monitoring.
