This role will be governed by the needs of specific funders according to current contracts. Employed by CAWNAC, this role has a “hybrid” location which means that with line manager agreement, the working pattern is split across office locations and home,to meet the needs of the charity. You will deliver advice and casework via telephone and email, and you will need to attend our offices and outreaches in West Northants as required if a client requires face to face support.

Your main responsibilities are:

-Provide Casework covering the full range of debt advice.

-Achieve targets for caseload and outcomes

-Prepare and present cases to the appropriate statutory bodies and courts as appropriate.

-Make home/outreach visits if necessary

-Assist clients with other related problems including benefit problems where they are an integral part of their case and refer to other advisers or specialist agencies as appropriate.

-Ensure that all casework conforms to Citizens Advice’s quality systems and procedures.

-Maintain case records for the purpose of continuity of casework, information retrieval, statistical monitoring and quality assurance.

-Assist with social policy work by providing information about clients’ circumstances.

-Provide advice and consultancy to other staff/volunteers regarding debt issues.

-Monitor, assess and develop the standard of debt advice work within the service in conjunction with or at the request of the Advice Services Manager or Lead ASC Quality.

-Read relevant publications and keep up-to-date with legislation, case law, policies and procedures and undertake appropriate training.

-Attend relevant internal and external meetings as agreed with the line manager.

-Use IT for statistical recording, record keeping and document production.

This role offers flexibility for a great work-life balance. Your health and well-being is important to us, and we offer an Employee Assistance Programme, which includes access to a 24 hours helpline, lots of online health resources and telephone counselling. Whilst this is a hybrid role, your work/life balance matters to us, and we provide you with a laptop and other equipment to enable you to work remotely and in offices flexibly where appropriate within your role. We will work with you to develop your career – from the opportunity to work on problems that matter, and learn from knowledgeable and experienced colleagues, to acquiring valuable skills via training.
