About the role
Salary:£27,881 per annum for qualified caseworkers. Trainees starting point £25,621 per annum moving to £27,881 when qualified. Pro-rata for part-time
Hours: Full-time and part-time roles available
Base location: Hybrid* in Leicestershire with travel to Leicestershire offices and community venues. Work base will normally be the closest branch to where you live.
Our Money Advice Service is here to lend a helping hand to local residents who are struggling with debt – big or small. We help people understand their options, navigate complex processes like bankruptcy and Debt Relief Orders, and negotiate with creditors to find sustainable solutions. We’re all about practical solutions and giving people the tools they need to regain control of their finances.
We’re looking for passionate Money Advice Caseworkers who’s ready to make a real difference. You’ll be the friendly face and trusted adviser our clients turn to, offering support, guidance and a listening ear. You’ll be the expert who helps our clients understand their options, navigate the complexities of debt and negotiate with creditors to find a way forward to achieve financial stability and peace of mind.
Your day-to-day
Providing expert debt advice to clients via phone, face-to-face and digital channels. You’ll manage multiple cases at various stages at the same time, ensuring each client receives the attention they require.
Exploring financial options, analysing implications and helping clients make informed decisions that lead to financial stability. You’ll stay up-to-date on the latest changes in debt advice legislation so that your advice is always accurate and relevant.
Empowering clients to understand their financial situation and guiding them through appropriate deb solutions.
Identifying and maximising potential income sources for clients, including benefits and financial assistance.
Negotiating effectively with creditors to establish fair and manageable repayment plans.

You can explain complex information in a simple and easy-to-understand way.
You are flexible and adaptable in applying your knowledge. All clients cases we support vary in their circumstances therefore the ability to be able to tailor information and knowledge is important.
You’re a resourceful problem-solver with a proactive and solution-oriented approach.
You thrive in a face-paced environment.
You’re a detailed record-keeper and able to manage a challenging caseload, prioritise and organise tasks to ensure that multiple deadlines can be met.
You will be someone that is able to receive feedback that’s constructive yet demanding. It’s important to approach it with a positive attitude and the mindset that every piece of feedback is an opportunity to improve.
You’re either trained in Specialist Debt Advice work or eager to learn and develop your expertise in this constantly evolving field.
You’re a team player committed to collaboration, sharing your knowledge to make a bigger impact and continuous learning.
