Salary Adviser £27,000- £30,000 (pro-rata where required)

Hours Between 24 – 37 Hours

Location This is a hybrid role working between home/ offices/Outreaches

Reporting to Client Services Manager

This is a perfect opportunity for a focused individual with great communication skills and a passion for alleviating the detrimental effects of fuel poverty on our clients’ lives.

Our ideal candidate will understand the impact of energy issues and previous experience in supporting clients. The work will include advising on energy enquiries, dealing with fuel debts, energy company disputes, advising on energy grants and energy efficiency measures.

This service is the first point of contact for those seeking advice and support on a range of energy related issues. Advisers on this service conduct an initial assessment of the client’s needs, give basic advice and self-help information and are able to make arrangements for further assistance where needed including full advice and casework where required.

The post holder will provide reliable and effective advice services, across all advice channels and access points, utilised by Bradford and Airedale Citizens Advice and Law Centre.

Key elements:

• Deliver free quality assured advice for those vulnerable to fuel poverty across Bradford and Airedale to support them towards being able to keep warm and healthier homes.

• Promote greater awareness and access to advice and other services pursuant to helping people with fuel insecurity.

The postholder will target cohorts to afford their energy bills, and reduce fuel poverty, creating a positive impact on their health and wellbeing by:

• Providing advice and practical support to help people improving the energy efficiency of homes

• Improving health and well-being of people living with fuel vulnerability

• Providing information on changing suppliers to save money

• Advising on Priority Services register and other services and grants available from energy suppliers and network providers

• Providing information and support around Carbon Monoxide

• Assisting with energy disputes/complaints

To be successful in this role you will be able to work with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail, exhibit excellent listening and questioning skills and to present and conduct yourself in a professional and courteous manner with all clients seeking support.

This role is project-funded, so you will be working to a target, allowing you to efficiently support as many clients as possible in this busy area of advice.
