Foodbank Welfare Benefits & Debt Caseworker

This is a partnership project between Citizens Advice Central Dorset and Gillingham Foodbank. It will reach out to those most in need in the Gillingham community by providing timely advice, information and support, particularly in the areas of welfare benefits and debt. The partnership aims to be a collective support for local people by assisting them to move to a more settled time in their lives through advocacy and advice. The caseworker will achieve this by attending the Foodbank on two mornings per week to work directly with those accessing its services. The successful candidate will be an experienced adviser who is used to working in partnership to produce positive outcomes for our clients.

We are therefore looking for an experienced Welfare Benefits and Debt Caseworker who can provide a flexible approach to the needs of our clients and is able to deliver comprehensive advice through various channels mainly face to face, working at the Foodbank and our Gillingham Citizen Advice office.

Hours: 10 Hours per week / 2 mornings a week

Salary: £15.56 per hour

Location: Gillingham, Dorset
