About the role

Citizens Advice Essex is recruiting passionate and dynamic individuals to join its Aviva Telephone Referral Service as Advisers or Caseworkers. This unique service, funded through a collaboration between Aviva and Citizens Advice, provides tailored advice and support to clients referred by Aviva using an innovative online referral tool. The service focuses on helping people navigate challenges related to welfare benefits, debt, housing, and income maximisation, with a target to assist 16,000 clients annually. Delivered through local Citizens Advice offices within the Citizens Advice Essex consortium, this project highlights Aviva’s commitment to customer wellbeing and tackling societal issues. Positions are available for individuals working fully remotely or on a hybrid basis at several participating local offices in Essex. Roles are listed as full-time (37 hours weekly) in most locations; however, we welcome applications from candidates interested in part-time work, with a minimum of 18.5 hours per week. This is a pilot project, subject to a fixed-term employment contract. However, it forms part of a long-term strategic relationship between Citizens Advice and Aviva, and the long-term prospects for this service are considered promising. Combining the expertise of Citizens Advice nationally and locally, the service leverages the Citizens Advice Referral Tool to streamline processes and deliver timely, effective support. Advisers and Caseworkers will play a key role in providing holistic care, focusing on addressing complex needs to achieve positive outcomes.
