About the role

CAWNAC’s strategic aim of preventing a problem becoming a crisis will mean that problems take less time to resolve, requiring fewer CAWNAC resources (costing less) and improving the client journey (more accessible, quicker). This aim will be met in part by placing our access points - our “front door” in locations at the heart of our community and by making this service accessible online.

Main duties and responsibilities:

-Assist the Community Assist Team Manager to grow and develop consistent and sustained drop-in and virtual Community Help and Information Points

-Develop sustainability by mentoring CHIP volunteers and providing a back-up for volunteer absence when required.

-Be a brand ambassador for CHIP, identifying & encouraging others to join the CHIP team

-Contribute to identifying potential CHIP locations

-Increase client take-up at CHIPs by developing and strengthening strong relationships in CHIP locations

-Contribute to raising awareness of CHIPs using social media to promote service, locations and times.

-Maintain awareness of local services and projects that would be of benefit to clients

-Assist with marketing and promotion of the CHIP service

-Staff CHIPS as needed and including at times when volunteers are unavailable, to maintain continuity of service

-Provide coaching and mentoring to volunteers undertaking CHIP roles

-Engage with CHIP location staff to drive client engagement

-Provide stories for social media and share posts to raise awareness of CHIPs as our “front door”

-Undertake client assessment, screening and signposting so that referrals to Advice service are appropriate for detailed advice
